Immufen, taken at a low dosage of 400 mg twice daily, was found to improve seasonal discomfort outcomes in an 84-day study, as measured by the Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS).(1) This validated questionnaire assesses the severity of various seasonal wellness complaints. Relative to baseline, Immufen supplementation led to significant reductions in nasal congestion (-56.5%), runny nose (-57.4%), nasal itching (-48.1%), and sneezing (-46.0%), with an overall TNSS score reduction of 57.9%. Compared to a placebo, Immufen showed marked improvements, decreasing nasal congestion by 40.7%, runny nose by 57.0%, nasal itching by 43.4%, sneezing by 40.7%, and the total TNSS score by 55.6%.(1)
Immufen, administered at a low dosage of 400 mg twice daily, significantly enhanced quality of life in an 84-day study, as assessed by the Profile of Mood States, Short Form (POMS-SF), a validated questionnaire for mood assessment.(1) Compared to baseline, those taking Immufen had significant reductions in fatigue (-35%) and mood swings (-63%), along with a remarkable increase in vigor (+77%). When compared to a placebo, improvements with Immufen included a reduction in fatigue (-31.8%) and mood swings (-58.4%), and a substantial boost in vigor (69.4%).(1)
Immufen supplementation was found to significantly improve sleep satisfaction among participants facing seasonal discomforts, as demonstrated in two separate studies.(1,2) Using the Bergen Insomnia Scale (BIS), a standardized six-question questionnaire addressing sleep quality and fatigue, Immufen was found to reduce sleep quality challenges by 26% within four weeks and by 50% over twelve weeks. In contrast, those taking a placebo experienced increases in sleep challenges during both study periods.(1,2)
Mechanism of Action
Immufen works by helping to balance the body’s immune response, especially when exposed to seasonal triggers that might affect the nasal and respiratory health, causing seasonal/immune discomforts with broader impacts to the body like reduced energy, increased stress, and occasional sleeplessness. When exposed to specific seasonal elements, APC cells within the immune system present these seasonal elements to naive T-cells, initiating a TH2 cytokine immune response. This can lead to the production of Immunoglobulin E (IgE), a critical antibody in the immune health response. Immufen supplementation shifts this balance toward a TH1 cytokine response, which releases substances like interleukins (IL2, IL10) and interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) that restore immune health and alleviate seasonal discomforts thereby enhancing overall immunity and improving quality of life.
